Deadline

Deadline extended to July 13, 2017.

INTRODUCTION

Jack Webster uniquely excelled in three journalism platforms - print, radio and TV - during a distinguished career in British Columbia. The Foundation that has been created to honor his achievements primarily rewards excellence for work created on these platforms.

However, digital formats that did not exist in Jack's day - such as blogs, podcasts, social media applications, etc. - are today part of many journalists' toolkits. Therefore, we encourage entries in any of the categories below to include relevant digital material used to enhance the reader/viewer/listener experience of the submission.

We also offer a digital journalism category. it's specifically for digital-first stories, that is journalism uniquely suited to the creative use of digital storytelling including text, video, audio, audience interactivity, data and social media etc.

ELIGIBILITY

BC-based journalists reporting for BC news organizations on stories for BC audiences are eligible to enter the 2017 Jack Webster Awards. Entries published or aired between June 1, 2016 and May 31, 2017 are eligible.

Entries may be submitted by a journalist or team of journalists working in print, radio, TV, and digital media.
